Building a Quick Serverless Game with MongoDB Atlas and Realm

Working with a fully remote team, it's been pretty hard to develop some sort of team camaraderie. While meeting in person was not possible for a while, we did the next best thing: play games with each other on a bi-weekly basis!

Our favorite games were always cloud-based and multi-player (so everyone could join), and involved either drawing or custom input from the players. Naturally, I wanted to see if I could build my own version of these "Jackbox"-style games!

In this session:

- We'll play the game! Audience participation highly encouraged!
- I'll deconstruct the architecture of the game, tying relevant game actions to their respective serverless components
- Explore the benefits and caveats of building games with a serverless architecture

By the end of this talk, the audience should be able to play the game, understand how each part works, and even be inspired to create their own!

Perhaps most important, however, is that she spends way too much money on desserts and ungodly amounts of time playing Age of Empires II.
